My reasons for reading this book were two fold: 1. I read "How to Kill a Rock Star" and enjoyed it. 2. I love Chris Cornell with a fierce tenth-grade passion and the idea of "Preaching the End of the World" as being a catalyst for true love made me excited.
I was disappointed. The middle dragged on and on, I grew disgusted with the characters, and the ending was very anticlimactic. The romance wasn't very romantic and the music and culture was quite pretentious in a poseur sort of way.
In short, I expect a bit more soul from a post-grunge love story. And I wanted to like it, I really did.
