Oh, Libba. I would have liked this book a lot better if it hadn't been so all over the place. Also I think some of the satire came off as more mean-spirited than funny or thought provoking.
I really liked the more realistic parts - where the girls are sitting around the campfire talking or... basically any of the parts where two or more of the girls are having a conversation. I don't think the book really needed the underdeveloped pirate characters, the evil villians, or the weird hallucinogenic scenes to show who the beauty queens are and how they grow.
