I'd heard mixed reviews on this one. Some said it was too predictable and that it suffered in comparison to The Thief. While it doesn't have the gotcha value that The Thief did and the twist wasn't really a surprise by the time it came, I did like this one better. I think the story overall is better, more engaging. And don't imagine that Nielsen will keep lying to us for the sake of a twist the way I think Megan Whalen Turner does. Outside of the comparison, I still liked this and look forward to the next in the series.
